Veggie Stall

Tuesday was yet again another holiday, but both Michele and I were able to work in the morning and then treated ourselves to a big mean of traditional Bengali Food at a restaurant around the corner.

Spicy fish

Banana flower curry

Dal (every one tastes different)

Potato and bitter melon curry

Rice

Sweet Shop - These are mostly made from milk and sugar

Afterwards we wandered down Rash Behari Ave. to partake of a sweet and then continued through the market for tea. It was a quiet afternoon so we sat on a worn wooden bench at the tea wallah’s  in the middle of the market and watched the flower workers create bouquets and garlands of tuberoses. It smelt wonderful.
