Tuesday: A day of Contrasts. The morning began with the first real glimpse of the sun no better day to make a pilgramage to the most over-the-top contemporary Hindu temple the Swaminarya Akshardhanm. A huge complex of shrines, dioramas, fountains and sculptures as well as a food court and gift shop. The Disney of Hinduism. Unfortunatly they did not
allow photography so I am not able to provide my own visual intrepretaion but I did purchase a book and will up load images from that soon.
The late afternoon was spent at a early Mughal site (mid 16th century), Humayun’s Tomb as the sun set the red sandstone aglow. This complex of buildings is well preserved and the grounds with fountains and water channels have been resently restored.
