Anatomy of a Print

June 7, 2010 Posted In Art, New Orleans, Prints Tagged printmaking, screen print

This screen print entitled “Garden of Delights” was created for an exchange portfolio in an edition of 20 organized by Melanie Yazzie from the University of CO, Boulder. The  work was inspired by the colors and tropical plants in my garden. It is a smaller transportable version of an installation that was printed directly on the wall at Louisiana Art Works. My intent is for the elements to create a pattern that alludes to narrative yet functions somewhere in between. Unfortunatly, this may act as a record of a lost paradise especially in regards to the environmental destruction of the Gulf Coast.

Following are some stages.
